UNKNOWN CEMETERY ----------------- Menallen Twp. ______________________________________________ AMOS SNIDER STONE ------------------MENALLEN TWP. To find it take New Salem Road to Fairbanks, go through Filbert #1 to Bunker Hill Rd on right. go to top of hill, stone on left 8 feet off road. There is a unusual story I was told about Amos. Seems he was killed while trying to fly. He had made a set of wings, probably similar to a modern glider. He told the group of people that were watching him if he was killed to bury him at base of large tree he was going to jump out of. He glided down a long valley about a mile when a gust of wind made him loose control and he fell to his death. Note the date, he must have been very advanced in his thinking. recorded 4-19-200. SNIDER Amos 1749 - - 1789 ###################################### UNKNOWN CEMETERY---------------MENALLEN TWP. This Small cemetery is located on top of a hill directly behind the dam of the Dunlap Lake. To get there turn onto New Salem Road off RT 40 West of Uniontown. Continue 3 4/10 miles to Krulock Rd, turn right, continue 6 / 10 mile to farm house on left. Cemetery is on top of hill to left.About 3/8 mile walk up hill walk. Stones were on ground and partily buried. I'm sure there more graves than I found stones, and sunken places. Cattle have been in cemetery over the years and have probably knocked stones over and they are now buried. There were 2 footstones marked H.C., but only found one headstone to match.
