Was talking to a man today, told him I was looking for old family cemeteries. He told me where 3 were that I didn't know about. (Will look for them.) And that there was one next to his son's yard. Contacted son, it is THE BOYD CEM and is in Bullskin Twp. The cemetery is in a brush filled strip between his and neighbors house. We used brush cutters to find what we did but there could be more as ALL stones are on the ground.Will go back this winter to see if there are more. To get there take RT 119 North out of Connellsville,PA Across from entrance to Green Ridge Cem. turn on to Moyer Rd. go 3/10 mile turn right on North Bellview Rd. Go 1 2/10 mile turn left on to Shoemaker Rd. Go to house on corner. Cemetery is between it and house on right. To the memory of Aroline BOYD died May 25, 1825 aged 85 years (one stone) William BOYD Feb. 25, 1812 age 60 years Ann BOYD consort of William BOYD Oct. 8, 1796 in 40th year. Tony Keffer told me about this cemetery, and went with me to list the stones It is THE OLD RICE CEMETERY. To get to it take RT 119 North out of Connellsville. Go to stop light at Warehouse Grocery turn right on Crossroads Rd. Go to intersection, turn left on Richie Rd. Go about 300 yards turn right on Country Club Rd. Go 1/10 mile turn left on Rice School Rd. Go 1/10 mile look to right, cemetery is on top of hill about 1/4 mile from road to right of a barn. This Cemetery is in poor shape. (It has a interesting story). The story is that this man was a thief and was Hanged for stealing horses. The church people didn't want him buried in their cemetery, so they buried him right along the road below the church. To find it turn off RT 119 onto SR 982 North of Connellsville, PA. Go 2/10 mile turn right on Englishmam Hill Rd. Go to stop sign, turn right, go 1/10 mile turn left on Rich Hill Rd Go 1 2/10 mile, look on right for stone. It is 1/10 mile below the Rich Hill Cemetery. Stone reads David STUDEBAKER died 1777 erected by the kindness of Henry Etling and citizens of Rich Hill May 1912. ############################## WEST SIDE CEMETERY Located in CITY of CONNELLSVILLE, PA This is a very small cemetery ( was larger but stones are missing) located on (West Side Hill ) At the intersection of RT 119 and West Crawford Ave. In Connellsville turn to go out of town on West Crawford Ave. you will go up a steep hill with two sharp turns. On the second turn look to left , you will see the stones. HARBAUGH David Dec. 12, 1871 age 72 yrs. 2 mths. 22 ds. James s/o D.& A. MARCH 28, 1865 age 22 yrs. 6 mths. 13 ds. (part of stone broken off it reads) HARBAUGH Isabella their daughter born Dec. 21, 1850 died Feb. 3, 1851 ############################## UNNAMED CEMETERY CONNELLSVILLE TWP Found a old cemetery just out of Connellsville,PA It is in very bad shape with many stones gone or buried in dirt. What I did find were broken. 8-10 bases but no stones and sunken places No markers. Stones I did find were on the ground. To find it take 119 North out of Connellsville, just after you pass the Crawford Ave. exit ,North of town, turn right on Buttermore Rd. The road turns back toward Connellsville. There is a 50 foot ledge on left, cemetery is on top of it. I will go back this winter to see if I can find more stones, but this is what I did find.
