DUNBAR TWP. I went checking two old cemeterys today, I have no one that I am looking for in these old cemeterys, but thought that few people have seen the stones and probably no one will make a list for them. I hope what I found will help someone. The first one is located on the top of the hill on the left on Race Path Road. To get to it take Crawford Ave. up West Side Hill out of Connellsville. Stay on it for about 4or 5 miles until you come to a Y. Bear left about 1/4 mile turn left on Race Path Road. The cemetery can be seen from road, about 100 feet square, it had a high chain link fence around it, all that is left are the posts. Only 2 stones are standing and in good condition. The landowner told me that many stones are down and covered with dirt. These are what I could read. George Paull departed this life Mar. 31. 1778 in the 14th year of his life Martha Paull departed this life May 11, 1800 in her 69th year Gen. Alexander McLelland Died May 8th, 1841 in his 74th year John McLelland departed this live 15th of Feb. 1810 in his 80th yea Experiaince Mc Lelland died 9th of Feb. 1811 in the 67 year of her life John McCleland father of Alexander McCleland and grandfather of James A. To find it go to Vanderbilt, take RT 201 North toward RT 51. As you leave Vanderbilt RT 201 makes a sharp right turn at the intersection of the Vanderbilt and Leisenring Road. Go straight on Vanderbilt Leisenring Rd. 1 and one half miles, you will see a house on left with a gravel road going, up through a field. Go up this road to sharp left bend, stop, cemetery is a little to right of straight, across field about 150 yards in woods at point of hill. There is a about a 30 feet square. 4 foot high stone wall around it LEIGHTY Henry 4- 20- 1844 age 62 years old Sarah 6--1828 age 39 consort of Henry There are 6 unmarked fieldstones and evidence of other unmarked graves. ############################## LISTON CEMETERY. DUNBAR TWP. I was told by a old timer who lived nearby the Liston Cem is also known as John's Cem at one time,. Finally found the Liston cemetery the other day. To get there go to Dunbar, PA, take the road toward Ohiopyle on the Dunbar Ohiopyle Rd. Just as you leave Dunbar the road turns to the right don't miss it. Stay on this road for abt. 4 miles. You will start up a steep hill with a sharp left curve at bottom. When you get to a sharp right curve there is a road going straight (Kingan Hill Rd) Go up it for 2 1/10 miles, the main road goes straight BUT you want to turn right. Go down the hill 3/10 mile the main road turns left you will turn right, cross the pipeline. Go 4/10 mile to a small State Game Land parking lot. From there you will have to walk about 3/4 mile. You will see a old untraveled road going up the hill go up it until you see an ATV trail going to the right about 200 yards after you get to top of hill. Go up it until you come to a large tree that has fallen across the trail. Walk to the right to top of rise you should be able to see tops of one of the stones. Be prepared for briars as it is very thick and you won't see it more than 100 feet away as this cemetery is over grown with blackberry and green briars. NOW here is what I found.
