The Supreme Executive Council of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know Ye that in Consideration of the Money of sixty Alexander Buchanan into the Receiving Generals Office of this Commonwealth of the granting Warrant herein after mentioned and of the Sum of One pound sixty Shillings and Nine pences lawful money now paid by him into the said Office is granted by the said Commonwealth unto the said Alexander Buchanan A Certain Tract of Land called "Greenfield" Situate on the South Side of Georges Creek in George Township Fayette County Beginning at a Sycamore on the Fork of the said Creek thence by land of Philip Jenkins South thirty six degrees and a half East sixty seven perches and five tenths to a Gum thence by land of James Dale North forty degrees East fourteen perches and one tenth to Stones South fifty six degrees and a quarter East one hundred and fifty five perches to a Chestnut Oak thence by land of James Walker North thirty six degrees and a half East one hundred and thirty eight perches to a post thence by land of the heirs of Owen Hughes North eighty three degrees West nine perches and nine tenths to a white oak North nine degrees and a quarter East fifty seven perches to a post North thirty one degrees and a half West one hundred and thirty six perches to Stones on the Bank of the said Creek thence down the same by the several Courses thereof of two hundred and seventy three perches and three tenths to the Beginning Containing Two hundred and thirty Acres and a half and allowances of Sixty Cent for Roads & c. With the Appurtenances which said tract was surveyed in pursuance of a Warrant granted to the said Alexander A. Buchanan dated the 5 November 1789 To Have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land with Appurtenances unto the said Alexander Buchanan and his heirs to the life of him the said Alexander Buchanan his heirs and Assigns forever free and clear of all Restrictions and Reservations as to Mines Royalties Quit Rent otherwise excepting & reserving only the fifth part of all Gold and Silver Ore for the life of this Commonwealth to be delivered at the Pits Mouth clear of all Charges In Witness whereof His Excellency Thomas Mifflin Esq. President of the Supreme Executive Council hath here set his hand and caused the State seal to be hereto affixed in Council the fifteenth day of November in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety and of the Commonwealth the fifteenth Attest Charles ?
