All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm Contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Beryl Redfield ___________________________________________ The Supreme Executive Council of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania To all to whom these presents shall Come Greeting – Know ye that in Consideration of a Sum of Three pounds three shillings and nine pence lawful Money paid by John Pierce DUVAUL into the Receiver Generals Office of the Commonwealth there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto the said John Pierce DUVAUL A Certain Tract of Land called “Fancy” Situate on the Waters of Georges Creek on the South Side of the Road that leads to Hyde’s Ferry on Monongahela River in Springhill Township Fayette County Beginning at a Corner Locust Tree of William Mitchell’s land thence by the stone South seventy-two degrees East and three perches and four tenths to Stones North seventy degrees and an half East ninety nine perches to a White Oak and North fifty seven degrees and three quarters East twenty nine perches and four tenths to a post thence by land of Enoch ABRAHAMS and Bazil BOWERS north twenty five degrees West one hundred fifty five perches to a post thence by said Bower’s land North fifty seven degrees and a quarter West eighty one perches and two tenths to Stones at land of Henry ROBISON and thence by the stone north forty three degrees West one hundred and forty perches to a Black Oak tree of the farm and land of Peter HAYFIELD South thirty eight degrees West one hundred and thirty three perches and eighteen stone posts thence by other land of said Duvaul South eleven degrees and a quarter East one hundred and ninety one perches and one tenth to a post and South seventy five degrees and a quarter East ninety seven perches and Sixteenths to the place of Beginning Containing three hundred and eighty two acres and three quarters strict measure with the Appurtenances (which said Tract was surveyed for the said John Pierce DUVAUL in right of William BROOKS in pursuance of the Orders of the Board of Property of the 15 September 1734 and 7 March 1785 for whom a Warrant of Acceptance forces the 5 June Instant) To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land with the Appurtenances unto the said John Pierce DUVAUL and his Heirs to the use of him the said John Pierce DUVAUL The Heirs and assigns forever free and clear of all Restrictions and Reservations as to Mines Royalties Quit Rent or otherwise excepting and reserving only the fifth Part of all gold and silver Royalties of this Commonwealth to be delivered at the Pits mouth clear of all Charges in witness whereof His Excellency Benjamin FRANKLIN Esq. President of the Supreme Executive Council hath here set his hand and caused the State seal to be hereto affixed in Council the eighth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven of the Commonwealth the Eleventh.
