We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ____________________________________________________________ Deed of December 5, 1808 for 25 1/2 acres of land purchased by MARY HAGGERTY, Widow, of RICHARD NOBLE, for consideration of $444.30 "paid in hand". Said land is a part of original land patent of January 13, 1787 to WILLIAM DUNN and known as "Punkin Patch" and situate in Washington Township, Fayette county. [recorded Book H, page 178] Deed of June 4, 1847 deeding land from WILLIAM & ELIZABETH HAGERTY to ROBERT HAGERTY. The deed is for 42 acres " being part of the tract of land called 'Green Park' patented in the name of John Gibson", located in Franklin Twp., and Robert paid $350 "cash in hand" [recorded in Book 3, page 493] [This and the following record obviously go together. Land is 42 acres, and a part of the original patent of 1799 known as "Green Park". Parents, WILLIAM & ELIZABETH HAGERTY held the land from 1842 to 1847, when they then sold it to son Robert.] [recorded Book 3, page 493] Deed of April 6, 1842 for a land sale to WILLIAM HAGERTY of Franklin Twp., Fayette county, and sold by R. SMITH PATTERSON and his wife ELIZA, for and in consideration of the sum of $325, paid "to them in hand". The tract of land is situate on the waters of Big Redstone Creek in Franklin Township for 42 acres more or less, being part of land called "Green Park" for which a patent was granted to John Gibson the sixth day of August 1799. [recorded Book 1, page 108] Deed of SAMUEL HAGERTY on April 12, 1842 for 42 acres of land in Washington Twp., Fayette county. Sold to said SAMUEL HAGERTY by ADAM RODACHER for the sum of "eleven hundred dollars good and current money in hand" for 42 acres, "together with all and singular the houses, barns, stables, ways, woods, water courses, rights, liberties, privileges". This parcel of land being a part of the original land patent of 377 acres in Washington Twp., Fayette county of June 19, 1780 and held by Thomas Mc Garraugh. [recorded book 1, page 52] Deed in Franklin Twp., Fayette county for MARY HAGERTY & SAMUEL HAGERTY of October 19, 1831 for 112 3/4 acres; situate it appears on Redstone Creek in Franklin Twp. Paid out at total price of $765, apportioned as follows: MARY HAGGERTY to own 2/3 of the parcel and be responsible for 2/3 of the purchase price; SAMUEL HAGERTY will own 1/3 of the parcel and be responsible for 1/3 of the purchase price. [The following deed comes from land sold off of the above 112 3/4 parcel:] Deed of September 5, 1839 between MARY AND SAMUEL HAGERTY and sold to AARON TOWNSEND, all residents of the county of Fayette. For consideration of $148.25 to them in hand paid for 9 acres and 130 p, it being a part of a tract of land patented to William Rittenhouse dated the 22nd day of March 1788. Signed by MARY HAGERTY, SAMUEL HAGERTY and ELIZABETH HAGERTY, his wife on August 27, 1839.[recorded book X, page 236] Deed of March 14, 1851 for SAMUEL J. HAGERTY for a part of a parcel of land of 377 acres of land in Washington Township, Fayette county, patented January 1787 to Thomas Mc Garaugh. This purchase is for 29 3/4 acres more or less, "together with all and singular, the houses, barns, ways, woods, waters, water courses, rights liberties privileges, etc." The purchase price paid by SAMUEL J. HAGERTY to DAVID PATTON, was "eleven hundred and ninety dollars and seventy five cents, to them in hand paid in lawful money of the United States."[recorded Book 12, p. 209] Deed of 1836 in Washington Twp., Fayette county, between ROBERT HAGERTY, and THOMAS J. WOOD and MARY his wife, for 40 acres and 1/2 , being part of "certain lands laying on the head waters of Little Redstone Creek, per patent description found in Book A, page 280." The sum of $700 was paid in hand to them by ROBERT HAGERTY. [recorded Book V. p. 115] A sale and deed of land was made January 2, 1855 to ROBERT HAGERTY, from intestate seized lands of deceased Philip Grable of Redstone Township, Fayette county. The land included 64 acres "always excepting and reserving, the road to the graveyard." Consideration in the amount of $1305 dollars paid to the heirs of said Philip Grable: his widow Nancy, and issue twelve children: three sons: Nimrod, Frederick & Earhart; daughters: Hannah (intermarried with John McCormick), Elizabeth (intermarried with John Frazier of Wheeling, Va.), (?) Assineth (intermarried with James Dunn of Fayette county), (?)Quanester (intermarried with Daniel McDonald , Prudence (intermarried with Finley Chalfant), Rebecca (intermarried with M. Chubich of Washington county, PA.), Lydia (intermarried with Thornton Randolph of Fayette county.[Recorded in Book 9, page 443 Fayette County] An Indenture (or deed) made the twentieth day of January in the year of our Lord 1862, between several owners of property that had been previously seized by the High Sheriff Eli Cope of Fayette county, in 1859. It seems as if Wilson HALL died intestate, and the sheriff seized the property, according to his official duties. The following people then became the lawful owners pursuant to Court of Common Pleas action: William G. Patterson and his wife Edith; John R. Dutton and Sarah Ann his wife; Samuel Steele and Elizabeth Ann, his wife. These above named parties then sold the parcel of land which was situate and being in Redstone Township, Fayette county and containing 108 acres, of which 80 are cleared. The deed also includes the presence of a log house and a log stable. Consideration paid by ROBERT HAGERTY to the above named parties, was in the sum of $4360 lawful money of the United States of America. [Recorded Book 13, page 441 Fayette County Recorder of Deeds Office] An Indenture was made the 29th day of March 1866 between LOUISA HAGERTY of Franklin Township, Fayette county and [brother] REUBEN HAGERTY, of the same place. This concerns land inherited jointly from their father SAMUEL HAGERTY upon his death in 1857. The parcel of land is situated in Franklin township, and consists of 17 acres and 104 perches, " by neat measure, it being a part of the farm that was willed to the said LOUISA HAGERTY and REUBEN HAGERTY by their father SAMUEL HAGERTY, to have and to hold." The amount paid in consideration by REUBEN HAGERTY TO LOUISA HAGERTY for this piece of land was paid, cash in hand, in the amount of $174.50. The Indenture was signed by LOUISA HAGERTY, REUBEN HAGERTY and his wife MINERVA. [recorded in Book 17, page 400 Fayette County] The following Indenture or sale was then made on the above named property and for the same date of March 29, 1866 between the sellers REUBEN & MINERVA HAGERTY, and to the purchasers Jocephas Lofton & Nicholas McFall of Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County, PA. The sum paid for said parcel of land was $441.25, paid in hand on the above mentioned date.
