SPEERS and JAMES HAGERTY; April 12, 1851 #1928 Book 6, Page 221 This Indenture made this twelfth day of April in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one, between Louis W. Speers of Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County, State of Pennsylvania and Jane his wife of the one part, and James Hagerty of Bellevernon, Fayette County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that in pursuance of the directions contained in the last will and testament of Noah Speers late of Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County and state aforesaid, Samuel Walker Esquire of Allegheny County and the aforesaid Louis W. Speers surviving executors of the said Noah Speers deceased by their Indenture bearing date the 24th day of January AD 1834, conveyed unto Solomon Speers son of said Noah Speers deceased, two hundred and seventy six acres and thirty eight perches of land straight measure. It being a part of the estate of the said Noah Speers deceased, and being a part in Westmoreland County and a part in Fayette County, and adjoining the town of Bellevernon on the Monongahela River, Washington Township, Fayette County. And whereas the said Solomon Speers and Mary his wife by their Indenture bearing date the 15th day of February 1834 and recorded in the Office for recording of deeds in and for the County of Westmoreland, Book No. 21, page 244 for the consideration therein mentioned, conveyed the aforesaid tract of land unto the said Louis W. Speers, as reference being had unto --- --- deed and records, it will more fully and at large appear. And whereas the said Louis W. Speers having lant out a part of said land in terms set, as an addition to the aforesaid town of Bellevernon. Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said Louis W. Speers and Jane his wife for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars given and --- money of the State of Pennsylvania to them in hand paid by the said James Hagerty at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and thereof acquit and forever discharge the said James Hagerty, his heirs, executors and administrators by these presents have granted, bargained, sold, released and confirmed and by these presents do bargain....(etc.) all that measurage piece or parcel of land situate and lying in the aforesaid addition to the Town of Bellevernon, known in the general plan of said town by Lot one hundred and one (101). [Legal description of property follows.] Containing six thousand feet of ground, and including lot number one hundred and one. Together with all and singular the improvements, buildings, ways, headwaters, watercourse...(etc.) to have and to hold by James Hagerty and his heirs and assigns...(etc.) In witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto set their hand and seals, dated the day and year first above written.
