Deed dated January 6, 1812. Land situate in Springhill Township. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Recorded and Compared 22nd August 1814 Whereas the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by this Warrant the thirty first day of May one thousand seven hundred and eighty five did grant to be Surveyed unto John Hardin thus hundred acres of land including an improvement on both sides of Georges Creek adjoining the lands of Martin Hardin Hardin, Charles Griffin & John Walker in Springhill Township in the County of Fayette ³ who in and by Item of his last Will & Testament dated the thirteenth day of May one thousand eight hundred and three, did devise the unto his Sons John and Absolom rocception thereout fifty Acres to be otherwise disposed of & Now Know ye that the said John Hardin and Barbara his Wife for and in Considireation of the Sum of two hundred and thirty seven pounds eight shillings and five pence farthing to them paid by George Hardin of Springhill Township Fayette County and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania the Receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged. Have Granted; bargained and fold unto the said George Hardin All the Estate right title and Interest of them the said John and Barbara, of into or out of the following descibed part of that tract of land Surveyed for the said John Hardin deceased in Consequesnce of said Warrant viz Beginning at a White oak thence South eighty degrees and a quarter east fifty six perches to a Stake thence Nouth sixty degrees and a half East fifty five perches to a Dogwood Post thence North sixty four degrees West twenty eight perches and three tenths to a Sugar tree thence North Sixty nine degrees West thirty seven perches an four tenths to a Sugar tree thence North fifty nine degrees West twenty three perches and eight tenths to a sugar tree in Cato Hardinıs line thence South twenty seven degrees and a half East twenty perches and three tenths to the beginning--Containing thirty one Acres one half and twenty five perches Strict Measures To have and to hold therefore described part of the aforesaid tract of land with the appurtenances unto the said George Hardin his heirs and Assigns forever--Subject only to the prportional of Money of it due to the Commonwealth one whole tract to procure a patent therefore--otherwise free from any incumberance prior to the date hereof In Witness whereof the Granting party aforesaid have hereunto set their hands & seals the Six day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twelve ____ _____ ³George² interlined before signing.
