Deed dated May 22, 1818. Land situate in Springhill Township. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Recorded & Compared 20th Feby 1823 Whereas the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by Patent dated the 25th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight did grant unto John Hardin of Springhill township Fayette County and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania aforesaid deceased a certain tract of land Called Hardins Park Situate on Georges Creek in the said John Hardin in and by his last will and testament dated the 12th day of May 1803 follows to wit I bequeath to my sons George and Cato 290 acres of this farm I now live on to be divided in equal shares both in number of acres and quality of soil each one to possess the end of the place he now lives on and Whereas the said George Hardin and Cato Hardin persuant to the last will and testament of the said deceased have mutually severed their Interest in the said devise by mashed lines agreeably to the parties Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Cato Hardin Susanna his wife for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and sixty eight Dollars money of the united states to them paid by George Hardin aforesaid the receipt whereof is hereby acknolledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said George Hardin his heirs and assigns the following described art of the said Cato Hardins purport in the before mentioned devise (to wit) Beginning at a Red oak on the south side of the sugar camp hollow in line between Cato and George Hardin thence north 43 degrees West 33 perches & 5/10 to a sugar tree thence north 43 degrees West 33 perches & 5/10 to a sugar tree thence N1 1/3 degrees E 34.7/10 to a post acornes of Andrew Oliphant thence N 36 3 degrees E 21 4/10 to a beach thence S 683 degrees E 5. 4/10 to a post thence S 652 degrees E 19 perches to a post then N 65 degrees E 25 perches to apost N 14: degrees E 19 perches to a post then N 65 degrees E 25 perches to a post N 14: degrees E 29 2/10 to a post N 87 degrees E 8 perches to a post S 26 3 degrees W 119 perches to the beginning containing sixteen acres me rood nineteen and a half perches with the appurtenances To have and to hold the same unto the said George Hardin his heirs assigns forever freely and clearly acquitted as and discharged from the legal claim challenge or demand of the other heirs of the said John Hardin deceased or any other person or person whosoever by which a good and sufficient title to the same might in any wise be embarrased.
