Deed dated October 11, 1854. Land situate in Springhill Township. --------------------------------------------------------------------- This Indenture, made the Eleventh day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four Between William Hardin of Springhill Township Fayette County and state of Pennsylvania and Sarah his wife of the first part and Jackson Hardin of Springhill Township and County and State of Pennsylvania of the second part, Witnesseth, that the said parties of the first part, for, and consideration, of the sum of four thousand six hundred and two dollars and thirteen cents (4602.13) lawful money of the United States of America, unto them well and truly paid by the said party of the second part, at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, release, convey, and confirm unto the said part of the second part, his heirs and assigns, All of the one and undivided half of that certain message tenement and tract of land situate in Springhill Township Fayette County and State of Pennsylvania, bounded and described as follows Begining at stone thence N 75 W 54.35 perches to hickory thence N 24 2 W 241.75 perches, to stone thence N 78 E 172.5 perches to stone, thence S 92 W68.25 perches to stone thence S 13 E 63.2 perches to stake thence S 92 W 99.55 perches to place of Beginning Containing one hundred and sevety three acres two reeds and thirty one perches and thirty five hundredths (173A. 2R. 31:35 perches), adjoining land of William Stewart Alex. Stewart, Jacob Gans, William Gans and others, Being the same tract of parcel of land devised by George Hardin late of Springhill Township County and State aforesaid deceased to William Hardin and Jackson Hardin by will be using date the twenty fourth day of January AD 1846. Together with all and singular the houses improvements, ways, waters, water-courses, rights, liberties, priviledges, hereditaments, and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belongig or in any wise appertaining, and the reversions and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof, To have and to hold the said messuage, tenament and tract of one hundred and sevety three acres two reeds and thirty one perches and thirty five hundredths, hereditaments and premises hereby granted, or mentioned, and intended so to be with the appurtenances, unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, to and for the only proper use and behoof of the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said William hardin & Sarah W the said parties of the first part, for themselves their heirs, executors and administrators, do by these presents, covenant grant and agree to and with thesaid party of the second part his heirs and assigns, that they the said parties of the first part their heirs, all and singular the hereditaments and premises herein above described and granted, or mentioned and intended so to be, with the appurtenances, unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, against them, the said parties of the first part, and their heirs, and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever, lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof, Shall and will warrant and forever defend. Witness Daniel Smith William Hardin Fayette County SS: On the eleventh day of October Anno Domini 1854, the subscriber, a Justice of the peace in and for the said county came the above named William Hardin and Sarah W his wife, and acknowledged the above Indenture to be their act and deed, and desired the same might be recorded as such. She, the siad Sarah W being of full age and by me examined separate and apart from her said husband, and the contents of the said Indenture being first made fully known to her, declared that she did, of her own free will and accord sign, ---- seal, and as her act and deed, deliver the same, without any coercion or compulsion or her said husband.
