Thomas and Hannah Collins to John Hibben 1812. WHEREAS The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by Patent the eleventh day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred eighty six did grant unto Henry Beeson a certain tract of land called "Mill Seat" situate in Union Township Fayette County on Redstone Creek who together with Mary his wife by Indenture dated the twentieth day of May one thousand seven hundred ninety five conveyed two acres and eighty four perches strict measure being part of "Mill Seat" aforesaid and situate in Union Town to John Collins who together with Mary his wife by Indenture dated the eighteenth day of October in the year one thousand eight hundred and two conveyed the following described lot of ground being a part of the two acres and eighty four perches aforesaid to Thomas Collins of Union Town. Now this Indenture witness that the said Thomas Collins and Hannah his wife for and in consideration of four Hundred Dollars to them in hand paid by John Hibben "Hatter" of union Town the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged. Have granted Bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant Bargain and sell unto said John Hibben Hatter his heirs and assigns the following described Lot of Ground situate in union Town aforesaid. Beginning at a stone planted in the East side of and adjoining Cheat road or street one hundred and forty five feet from the North west corner of John Collins' lot near the southern edge of Henry Beeson's mill Race thence at right angles with said Street or road by John Vankirks' lot Eastward one hundred and fifty feet to a stone thence by John Collins lot Northward and parralel with Cheat Street or road aforesaid thence By the same Southward Seventy two feet and a half to the place of Beginning. Containing one quarter of an Acre or the ususal size of a lot in The Town of Union. (Being the same lot on which Andrew Collins now lives) with the rights members and appurtenances thereunto Belonging To have and to hold the aforesaid described lot of ground and premises with the appurtenances to the said John Hibben "Hatter" his heirs executors adminstrators and assigns forever. Freely and clearly aquitted exonerated and discharged from the effect of any former grant judgement mortgage or other incumbrance whatsoever future taxes excepted. In Witness whereof the granting party to these presents have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the Eleventh day of may in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve. ...."the words" to John Collins underlined before signing.
