Indenture from Thomas & Mary Hibben to William Crawford in 1827. Whereas the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by patent dated the sixteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety seven did grant unto Henry and Joseph Tomlinson a certain tract of land called "Trial" situate in Union Township Fayette county and Commonwealth aforesaid and by Indenture bearing date the eleventh day of January one thousand eight hundred and two the aforesaid Henry and Joseph Tomlinson did grant bargain and sell unto Thomas Hibben a certain part of the aforesaid tract of land. Now this Indenture Witnesseth that Thomas Hibben and Mary his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Eight hundred dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto William Crawford his heirs or assigns forever the following described part of the aforesaid tract of land. Beginning at a post on Mill Road thence South five and one half degrees west seventy nine perches and Eighty five hundredths thence south Seventy nine degrees East Twenty perches thence North nine degrees East seventy two perches thence North Sixty one and three fourths west twenty five perches and four tenths to the place of Beginning. Supposed to contain ten acres one Rood and Eighteen perches strict measure. To have and to hold the same unto the said William Crawford his heirs Executors administrators or assigns forever free from the future claim challenge or demand of the said Thomas Hibben and Mary his wife or any other person claiming or to claim under them or either of them by which a good title to the same may or might in any wise be Effected. In Witness whereof the granting party aforesaid have hereto set their hands and seals the fourteenth March in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty seven.
