Starting deed information dates to 1797: for a land patent granted by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to JACOB KYLE and ABIGAIL his wife and which they call "Liberty Hall". The next transaction takes place April 1801 where "they did convey a part of "Liberty Hall" to NATHANIEL BONCER, by "virtue of a deed of trust in behalf of the heirs of GEORGE WRIGHT (DATED 1802) to (?)UPHAMY WRIGHT on behalf of the heirs of GEORGE WRIGHT, deceased. His heirs grant this transfer "by indenture dated September 1809 to NATHANIEL BONCER. Who together with HANNAH his wife by indenture bearing the date May 1812 conveyed a part of that tract of land called "Liberty Hall" to JOHN BURNETT." Next Indenture to Patent Property: the said JOHN BURNETT and SARAH his wife for $50 consideration paid by JOHN M. JOBES of George Township, Fayette county for "one acre strict measure, more or less" and dated 1819 ----------------------------- JOBS, SAMUEL, grantee; WEST, BENJAMIN et ux, grantor; for deed 2/21/1839 in Redstone Twp. for 3+ acres; registered 3/5/1839 in Book W, Page 312. Whereas the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania granted a Patent to JEREMIAH DOWNS for a tract of land called "Downs Inheritance" situate on the waters of Great Redstone Creek, Redstone Twp., Fayette county. The said JEREMIAH DOWNS then died and by an action of the Orphans Court the title to the aforesaid tract was vested in JONATHAN DOWNS (and MARY his wife), son of JEREMIAH. They then conveyed by deed January 1827 fifty two acres to BENJAMIN WEST and ELIZABETH his wife [see county records Book II (Roman Numerals), pages 211, 212.] In February of 1839, there is a transaction for a consideration of $60 paid "in hand" to BENJAMIN WEST and ELIZABETH his wife, by SAMUEL JOBS for 3+ acres. Shown on Grantee/Grantor Index as: JOBS, SAMUEL, grantee; WEST, BENJAMIN et ux, grantor; for deed 2/21/1839 in Redstone Twp. for 3+ acres; registered 3/5/1839 in Book W, Page 312. ----------------------- JOBES, SAMUEL, grantee; SHARPLESS, JONATHAN, grantor; for deed of 2/3/1845 in Franklin Township for 19 acres; registered 12/4/1848 in Book 4, Page 320: Whereas the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania did grant unto JONATHAN SHARPLESS a Patent for a certain tract of land in Franklin Township, Fayette county dated February 21, 1842 in pursuance of a Warrant granted to JAMES ALLEN dated April 10, 1794 situate on Redstone Creek adjoining lands of EDWARD JORDAN, RICHARD PHILLIPS & RICHARD HILL and others. Now this indenture witnesseth that the said JONATHAN SHARPLESS of Franklin Twp. and MARGARET his wife for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty five dollars to them in hand paid by SAMUEL JOBES, of Franklin Twp., Fayette county for 19+ acres of land. Recorded December 4, 1848 ---- JOBES, SAMUEL, grantee; JORDAN, EDWARD t us; deed of 6/14/1844 in Franklin Township for 8+ acres; registered 12/4/1848 in Book 4, page 321 Whereas the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by Patent dated April 14, 1829 did grant unto EDWARD JORDAN a certain tract of land containing 108 3/4 acres situate on the waters of Great Redstone Creek in Franklin Township adjoining lands of JONATHAN SHARPLESS, RICHARD HILL and others. Now this indenture witnesseth that the said EDWARD JORDAN and JANE his wife of Franklin Twp. for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred fifty four dollars to them in hand paid by SAMUEL JOBES, convey 8+ acres. Recorded December 4, 1848 ---------------------------- Land Indenture: THOMAS BOORD and ELIZABETH, his wife ( late ELIZABETH FRANKENBERGER of Greene County, state of Pennsylvania, WILLIAM FRANKENBURGER and CATHERINE JOHNSTON (late CATHERINE FRANKENBERGER) of Fayette county, aforesaid children and heirs of CONRAD FRANKENBERGER of Fayette county. Know that the said THOMAS BOORD and ELIZABETH his wife, WILLIAM FRANKENBURGER (and NANCY his wife) and CATHERINE JOHNSTON for and in consideration of the following named sums of money to each in hand paid by SAMUEL FRANKENBURGER , and which sums are to bear interest, payments as follows: THOMAS BOORD and ELIZABETH, his wife the sum of $120 with interest from October 1, 1841 WILLIAM FRANKENBURGER, the sum of $120 with interest from August 1, 1842 CATHARINE JOHNSTON, the sum of $120 with interest from April 1, 1842 For a quit claim to SAMUEL FRANKENBURGER his heirs and assigns.
