Deed Book 22, page 566 Fayette Co, PA Joel Strawn to John Mossburgh, 1870 This Indenture Made the first day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Seventy, Between Joel Strawn and Mary A. his wife, of Perry Township, Fayette and state of Pennsylvania of the first part and John Mossburgh of Fayette City, county and state before named of the second part, Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Two thousand Nine Hundred and Sixty five Dollars by ? we to a ? dowery of five hundred dollars herein after mentioned lawful money of the United States of America untio them well and truly paid by the said party of the second part, at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. Have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release, convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns All that mesmage? or tract of land situated in said township, County and State Bounded as follows beginning at locust Corner of said Strawn's, Jacob Strickler and other ? by land of said Strickler North eighteen degrees, West forty seven and six length perches to a post, Thence South eighty one & a half degrees, West eighteen and six length perches to a post, thence North sixteen and a quarter degrees, West seventeen perches to a post, thence South fifty seven and a quarter degrees, West twenty more and seven length perches to Stone, thence South eighteen and a half degrees, West two perches to Stone, thence by land of Samuel Smith North fifty seven and a quarter degrees, East eighty seven and seven lengths perches to W. Oak , thence by of John Spadley? South sixty one and three fourths degrees, East one hundred and four and four lengths perches to post, thence by other land of said Joel Strawn South twenty three and seven eighths degrees, West seventy six and three lengths perches to post, thence by land of James S. Strawn and Annie? Strawn North sixty nine degrees, West seventy six and eight lengths perches to the place of Beginning. Containing fifty and three fourths acres being part of a tract which said party of the first part took it at the mgusting? and appraisement of the real estate of Jacob Strawn, deceased, together with a lot of two and three fourths acres conveyed to the said party of the first from Jacob Strawn & wife by deed dated December 4th, 1861 and recorded in the office for the records of deeds in Said County in Deed book number 14, pages 509. Together with all and singular Messuages , property improvements, ways, waters, water courses, rights, liberties, privileges, hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversions, ?, ?, rents, issues and profits thereof and all the estate, right, title, interest, property claim and demand whatsoever of the said parties of the first part, in law, equity or otherwise howsoever, of, in and to the same and every part thereof. To Have And To Hold, the said estate, the said dowery excepted to which shall remain on said property till the death of Delilah Strickler, formerly Strawn, the interest of said dowery shall be paid annually to said Delilah Strickler on her order and at her demense, the said five hundred dollars shall be paid to the heirs or her legal representatives. The hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned and intended so to be with the appurtenances to the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns Forever. The said dowery and interest above mentioned excepted And Joel Strawn and Mary A. his wife, the said parties of the first part, their heirs, executors and administrators, by these presents Covenant, grant and agree to and with the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, that they the said parties of the first part, their heirs all and singular, the hereditaments and premises herein above described and situated and ?, and intended so to be with the appurtenances to the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns against them the said parties of the first part and their heirs and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof, the dowery above mentioned excepted.
