Joseph Leatherman

To all people to whom these presents shall come Samuel Reed James Reed and 
David Reed sons of Thomas Reed late of George Township Fayette County and 
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania send Greeting Whereas the Commonwealth aforesaid 
by their Warrant dated the fourth day of March in the year of our Lord on 
thousand seven hundred and ninety three did grant unto the said Thomas Reed 
three hundred Acres of Land including an Improvement adjoining land of Thomas 
Kerr John Bell and others in Georges Township in the County of Fayette. And 
Whereas the said Thomas Reed in and by his last will and Testament dated the 
Tenth day of May one thousand "seven hundred" and ninety one did devise unto 
his three sons above Mentioned the same tract of land for which the above 
mentioned Warrant was afterward Granted.  Now know Ye that the said Samuel 
Reed James Reed and David Reed for and in consideration of the sum of one 
thousand four hundred and twenty one pounds lawful money of Pennsylvania to 
them in hand paid by Joseph Leatherman of the same place Yeoman the Receipt 
whereof is hereby Acknowledged Have granted bargained and sold unto the said 
Joseph Leatherman all the estate Right title and Interest of them the said 
Samuel James and David of in to or out of the said warrant and tract of Land 
thereby granted and devised as aforesaid with the Appurtenances: To have and 
to hold the same unto the said Joseph Leatherman his heirs Executors 
administrators and Assigns forever Subject Nevertheless to the Commonwealths 
and all other dues and demands to which the same are liable.  In Witness 
whereof they have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the twenty 
sixth day of March Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight, 
the "word afterward" interlined.

Received on the day of the date of the foregoing deed pall [?] of the within 
named Joseph Leatherman the sum of fourteen hundred and twenty one pounds in 
full of the consideration therein mentioned.

Know all Men by these presents that I Elizabeth Reed Relict of Thomas Reed 
late of George Township deceased. In Consideration of a Sum of money to me 
C—anted to be paid by my sons Samuel Reed James Reed and David Reed & for 
other good Causes & Considerations  ----- to me moving [?] Have Released and 
quit claimed & by these presents do release and quit claim unto Joseph 
Leatherman of said Township & County the privileges I was to hold and enjoy 
in or out of a tract of land situate in George Township - devised to my said 
sons by the last Will and Testament of the said Thomas Reed.  And Id do by 
these presents Acknowledge myself from any further claim Challenge or Demand 
whatsoever in the premisses aforesaid for — & concluded [?] and de----s....In 
Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal the twenty sixth day of 
March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight.

came Elizabeth Reed and Acknowledged the foregoing Release to be her Act and
