"Recorded and Compared" September 20th 1856..On File at Uniontown Courthouse, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Know all Men by these presents that Jacob M. Thomas and Hepulah his wife of the said Thomas of Preston County, Virginia, in consideration of one hundred dollars to us in hand paid Daniel M. Thomas of Fayette County, Pennsylvania, the receipt whereof we do here by acknowledge have being received, sold and quit claim unto the said Daniel M. Thomas and to his heirs and assigns forever all of our and each of our right, title, interest estate claim and demand both at law and in equity to all that certain farm or piece of land lying in Wharton Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, joining Henry Ringer, Joseph Zimmermon, William (Cluderton?). The same to be sixty acres more or less now occupied by John M. Thomas, in Witness where of we have here unto let our hand and seals the 18th day of our Lord in the year Eighteen Hundred and Fifty Six. SIGNED BY: Jacob M. Thomas and said Hepulah his wife and in due form of law acknowledge the within written indenture to be their act and deed and desire the same to be recorded as such and the said Hepulah being of full age age and separate and apart from her husband by me there in privately examined and the full contents of the written deed being by me first known unto her did then upon declare and say that she did indenture deed of conveyance without any coercion or compulsion of her husband.
