The Daily courier, Tuesday May 23, 1922, Connellsville PA WILLIAM BIDDINGS CHARGED WITH MURDER OF MRS. LAVINA HILL William Biddings, colored, charged with the murder of Mrs. Levina Hill, also colored, at the Furnace early this morning, is being sought by the state police. Death of Mrs. Hill resulted from a gunshot wound in the breast. The Murder is reported to have been committed at 1:30 o'clock but little was known of it at Dunbar until 4 o'clock this morning. It was said Mrs. Hill and Biddings had been to a dance, returning from it about midnight. They drank moonshine and quarreled, it is believed. The victim was the wife of William Hill, but had been separated from her husband for about six months. She was 43 years old. Hill is employed at Casparis. Very little is known about the couple. The body was removed to the parlors of Funeral Director J. T. Burlians, Coroner S. H. Baum was notified of the murder and went to Dunbar to make arrangements for an inquest.
