The Daily courier, Tuesday May 23, 1922, Connellsville PA JACOB MERITZ SENT TO WORKHOUSE Jacob Meritz, charged with starting a forest fire on the property of the Indian Creek Coal & Coke Company April 30, last, was given 90 days in the workhouse when sentenced in court in Uniontown this morning. He denied having started more than one fire although several were discovered burning in that vicinity. He said he lighted the fire by a sun glass.
