     Because that number has figured prominently in the romance of the bridal
couple-elect, guests numbered 13 at the charmingly appointed surprise pre-
nuptial party given at the Summit Hotel by Barbara Dever Cole last evening in
honor of Lauretta Dils, bride-elect of Raymond Romesburg, of this city.
     Bridge diverted the guests who were served luncheon in the Baron
Munchausen room of the hotel, and presented the honoree with an ensemble gift
in the form of a toastmaster.
     At the mountain-top party were Barbara Dever Cole, hostess; Dorothy Dils,
Lauretta Dils, guest of honor; Jean Eslinger, Betty Critchfield, Martha
Rhodes, Mary Uhas, Betty Jeffries, Betty Bush Adams, Loraine Sidehamer,
Clarissa Brownfield, Mary Frances Brownfield, and Jayne Humphries Miller.
     A delightful feature of the evening was the playing of a group of organ
selections especially appropriate to the pre-nuptial party, by Eddie
Krushinski, musical artist at the Summit.
