The Daily courier, Thursday, February 20 1919, Connellsville Pa, Fayette Co. IVA N. BROOKS OBIT Mrs. Iva N. Brooks, 46 years old, wife of Undertaker Samuel C. Brooks, formerly of Davistown, died Wednesday evening at her home at Somerset, after an illness of six month. Mrs. Brooks was born near Indian Head, a daughter of William L. Beal and the late Sarah Beal. Except for three years at Somerset and two at Elwood City, she had resided all her life in the community of her birth. Besides her husband, Mrs. Brooks is survived by one son, Clyde B. Brooks, undertaker, Davistown; a granddaughter, Virginia Brooks; a sister, Mrs. Roy Sparks of Poplar Grove, near Connellsville, and a brother Lloyd M. Beal of Indian Head. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren. Short funeral services will be held at the home at Somerset Sunday morning at 9 o’clock. The funeral party will motor to Mt. Nebo church, near Indian Head, where further services will be held at 11:30 or 12 o’clock. Interment will be in Mount Nebo cemetery.
