BROWN, HOWARD W., aged 65, died Saturday, November 20, 1948 at 4:15 p.m. in his home, New Salem, where he was well known and had resided for the past 45 years and at one time had been engaged in the Grocery and Garage Business. He was a member of the New Salem Presbyterian Church and the U.M.W.A., Dearth Local. Surviving are his wife Jennie Davis Brown, and one daughter, Mrs. Robert Hackney of Ronco, one son, James W. Brown of New Salem, one grandson, James W. Brown, Jr., and these brothers and sisters, Mrs. John Armel, Mrs. Daisy Kirby, Lennis and Claude Brown, Front Royal, Va., Grover Brown, Martinsburg, W. Va. Friends will be received in the C. B. Dearth Sons Funeral Home, New Salem, until 12 noon, Tuesday, November 23. The body will lie in state in the New Salem Presbyterian Church from 1 until 2 p. m., the hour of service, with Rev. Robert E. Osman officiating. Interment will be in Salem View Cemetery.
