It was later photocopied and given to me in 2002. It is a transcription of this photocopied original with no corrections to its spelling or punctuation. C. C. GADD C. Cratious Gadd of Sykesville, Jefferson county, died June 26, 1933, at 5:30 a. m., after an acute illness of one week. Mr. Gadd was born in Merrittstown on June 26, 1855. He was married to Miss Sally Hughs of Fairchance 59 years ago. Mrs. Gadd died in 1931. Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Michael Killgallen of Sykesville; Armead and Ella, at home; Charles and Warren, of Sykesville; Mrs. McCurdy Slopey, of Akron, O.; and four grandchildren. Three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Clark, of Oliphant Furnace; Mrs. William Queer, of Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. I. O. Hughs of the McCellandtown road, also survive. Mr. Gadd was formerly a superintendent for the H. C. Frick Coke Company. In addition to his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Palmer Walls of Scottdale and a son, Hugh Gadd, prededed him in death. Funeral services were held at the Gadd home with burial in the Morningside cemetery at DuBois.
