JAY DAVIS. Jay (Jehu) Davis, 75, died at his home in Connellsville, R.D.3 near Johnson School at 3 o’clock Monday afternoon. He had been ill several years. He was born in Saltlick township January 3, 1878, a son of the late James G. and Delilah Miller Davis. Deceased was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Men’s Bible Class and Men’s Brotherhood. Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Samuel Townsley of Pitcairn and Mrs. George Geckle of Connellsville, R.D.2; five brothers, Irwin B. of Bairdford, Ike L. of Mount Pleasant, R.D.2, Elmer E. of Youngwood and Harry and Jacob M. of Connellsville, R.D.3 and two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Sourd of Connellsville, R.D.3 and Mrs. George Keefer of Sand Patch. The body was taken to the Ingram funeral home where the funeral service will be held at 2:30 o’clock Thursday afternoon. Rev G. Edward Kelly, pastor of the East End EUB Church will officiate. Internment will be in Mount Olive Cemetery. (note in ink Died Jan 29, 1953.)
