Thompson Journals Mrs Birdie Dunlap, wife of N.D. Dunlap died Monday night Sept 19, (1904) after a short illness of little more than 24 hours. Seldom has the community received such a shock as when it was reported Tuesday morning that Birdie Dunlap was dead, young & in perfect health, she was seen on the streets Sunday evening, a happy bride of but a few weeks, with bright prospects for the future, but as she & her husband walked to her father's home in the north part of town, she became suddenly sick & a doctor was called as soon as they reached the home of her father** She was a daughter of Mr & Mrs Henry Riffer & was born in Brown Co, near Sabetha July 6, 1871 & was married to Nathan D. Dunlap July 11, 1904. Hers was a beautiful life with not an unkind word to anyone. She had a sweet strong voice which was often heard at musical entertainments at Church & especially at the funeral of her friends. The funeral services were held in the M.E. Church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 PM This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/pafiles/ File size: 1.5 Kb
