EVANS, LESTER A. - Age 65 years, 8 months and 23 days, died in the Uniontown Hospital Saturday, January 30, 1965 at 3:45 p.m. He was a well known resident and educator of Masontown, Pa. Mr. Evans came to Masontown Schools in 1930 as the supervising principal of the Albert-Gallatin Jointure. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where he received his Bachelor and Master's Degrees. He was a member and officer of the Masontown Methodist Church, President of the Methodist Men's Club, member and Past President of the Masontown Rotary Club, member of Valley Lodge 459 F. and A.M., Masontown, Uniontown Lodge of Perfection, Scottish Rite and Syria Shrine of Pittsburgh, Woodside Grauge 1008, Masontown Vol. Fire Dept., Charter member of the loacal Isaac Walton League, the P.S.E.A. and the N.E.A. He was the son of the late Albert and Alice Strawhecker Evans and is survived by his wife Violet Wolfe Evans and the following sisters and brothers, Miss Adda Evans, Harrisburg, Lloyd Evans, of Harrisburg, Dr. Paul Evans, Elizabethtown, Mrs. Dora Saltzer, Valley View, Dr. Mark Evans of West Chester and Marlin of Harrisburg. Friends will be received in the David J. Honsaker Funeral Home, Masontown, today from 2 until 4 and 7 until 10 p.m. and Tuesday until 2 o'clock the hour of service with the Rev. Clarence Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. The following organizations will visit the Funeral Home this evening. The Masontown Vol. Fire Dept. at 7, The Rotary Club at 7:30, Masonic Rite will be held at 8 by Valley Lodge F. and A.M. 459, Isaac Walton members wil visit the Funeral Home after the services. Pallbearers, who have been chosen from the various organizations to which he belonged are: Howard Jankey, Robert Berish, Leslie Secoy, Frank Wheeler, Harry Riffle and James Fast.
