It was cut out and put into a photo album by its original owner, who gave them to me in 1997. It is a copy of the original with no corrections to its spelling or punctuation. I have changed the format to fit it onto 1 page. FRANKS. MRS. BESSIE MAY, aged 59 years. She was born January 11, 1890 in Confluence, Pa. and died Friday morning, February 18, 1949 at 1 o'clock in the hospital at Houston. Texas, following a three month illness. Mrs. Franks was a resident of Houston for the past four years, prior to that she spent most of her life on the McClellandtown Road. German Township. She was preceded in death by two sons, Russell Franks and Reed Franks who was killed in World War II. Surviving are her husband, J. Presley Franks of Houston and two sons: Donald M. Franks of Houston, Texas and Kenneth P. Franks of Uniontown. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Thomas, Elaine, Fontaine and Lucinda; and two sisters: Mrs, Emma McGinnis of Messmore and Mrs. Bertha Bowser of Confluence, and one brother, John E. Durst of McClellandtown Road, Funeral arrangements are being made for burial in St. Jacob's Lutheran church cemetery at Woodside. Friends are being received in the Sangston Funeral Home, McClellandtown, where services will be conducted Monday morning, February 21, at 10:30, with Rev. David Hunter officiating. Burial will be in St. Jacobs Lutheran cemetery.
