This obituary come from an unknown paper. It was cut out and 
put into a photo album by its original owner, who gave them to me in 1997. 
It is a copy of the original with no corrections to its spelling 
or punctuation. I have changed the format to fit it onto 1 page. 

FRANKS, MATTIE M.  Age 98 years of 685 Morgantown Rd., Uniontown, died
Monday evening, October 29, 1979 at her home. She was born December 3, 1880 in German Twp,
the daughter of the late, Daniel F. and Elizabeth Newcomer Hostetler. In addition to her 
parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Mahlon Franks and a son, W. Jesse Franks.
Mrs. Franks was a lifelong member of Jacobs Lutheran Church, the
Adult Sunday School Class and the Lutheran Church Women. 
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Franks of Uniontown, 
Mrs. Emily Moser of Rubles Mill, Pa., Mrs. Martha Camlin of Uniontown and Mrs. Dorothy Brown 
of McClellandtown;
two sons, D. Herbert Franks of Uniontown and Mahlon Franks of Aurora Shores, Ohio; 
ten  grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren. 
The family will receive friends in the Andrew D. Ferguson Funeral Home,
80 Morgantown St., this evening from 7 to 9 p.m., 
Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday in the 
Jacobs Lutheran Church from 12 noon until 1 p.m.,
the hour of service. Rev. Paul Markovits, her pastor will officiate.
Interment in Jacobs Lutheran Cemetery.
