October 5, 1918 Connellsville Courier DWIGHT HIXON DEAD: The body of Dwight W. Hixon, who died October 1 at Camp Lee of Spanish influenza, accompanied by Corporat Wray G. Wheatley, arrived at Scottdale this morning and was removed by Funeral Director Murphy to the home of the deceased soldier near Wesley chapel. Private funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home. The deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Hixon of near Wesley chapel, and left Scottdale six weeks ago for Camp Lee. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Sidney Guest of Scottdale, Zola at home, and two brothers, Cash and Smith Hixon. He was 26 years old.
