Howard aged 63 years, wife of S. H. Howard, one of the oldest and best known photographers of Connellsville, died last night at 8:45 o'clock at her home on Tenth street. Mrs. Howard had been in poor health for the past two years. Last Sunday she was stricken with acute pneumonia which resulted in her death. She was conscious up until the time of her death. Deceased was a daughter of the late William H. and Barbara Wheat Earnshaw and was born and reared in Baltimore county, Maryland. Forty one years ago she was married in Baltimore to Photographer S. H. Howard. In 1872 they came to Connellsville where they have since resided. She was the mother of five children three of whom survive. Mrs. Howard was a devout member of the Methodist Episcopal Church but owing to her sickness she had not taken any active part in church work for the past two years. She was widely known and highly esteemed by her many friends. Her mother died in Connellsville a number of years ago. She is survived by her husband, one son Attorney Leslie A. Howard, and two daughters, Miss Viletta Howard at home and Mrs. Mary Port wife of Lee Port, of Connellsville. One sister, Mrs. Mary Green, of Connellsville township also survives. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from her late home. Rev. A. J. Ashe pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church, will officiate. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
