Taylor Martin Dies; was Frick Veteran J. Taylor Martin, 74 years old, died at 9:25 o'clock Friday night at the Connellsville State Hospital, not many hours after he had been admitted. He was taken there Friday morning. Mr. Martin had been in poor health for some time and in the past three weeks had been considerably weaker. He was well known in Connellsville and Connellsville Township. Born April 15 1856 in Tanyard Hollow, he spent his entire life in this region. He was employed by the H. C. Frick Coke Company at Coalbrook until that plant was abandoned and then was transferred to Davidson. He was activily engaged until about four years ago when he retired on a pension. He was a member of Mount Olive Church and for 56 years was identified with General Worth Lodge of Odd Fellows in Connlessville. In addition to his widow Mrs Anna Miller Martin, he is survived by the following sons and daughters: George and Loran of Springfield Pike, Mrs. Frank Dyke of Circleville, Ohio, Mrs. Charles C. Leichliter and Charles Martin both of Springfield Pike, Donald at home and Henry, 112 Poplar Streeet. Four sisters, Mrs. Levi Firestone of Oliver No. 3, Mrs Wallace Baker of Linesville, Pa., Mrs. Sarah Norris of Cumberland, Md., and Mrs. Susan Leichliter of Rock Ridge, together a with half brother James Martin of Mount Braddock also survive. The body was taken to J. E. Sims funeral home and prepared for burial. It will be removed to the residence 315 Poplar Street, and funeral services will be held at Mount Olive Church. The time of service has not been arranged. Additional Comments: The Daily Courier, March 24, 1931 MANY AT FUNERAL OF TAYLOR MARTIN The Mount Olive Church was filled to overflowing yesterday for the funeral of J. Taylor Martin, lifelong resident of this region and Frick pensioner whose death occured at the Connellsville State Hospital. Rev. E. A. Shultz, pastor of the United Brethren Church of this city, officiated. Pallbearers were members of William McKinley Lodge of Odd Fellows. They were C. J. Siesky, J. H.
