Piper, R 7, Lemont Furnace, died Tuesday evening at Uniontown Hospital. Mr. Piper was a retired coal miner, a member of UMWA, Oliver Local No. 6288, and Eagles Lodge No. 828. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl, in 1963. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Andrews, Pleasant Hills, Pittsburgh, Mrs. Olive Tansey, Jacksonville, Fla., and one brother, Ralph, Uniontown. Friends are being received in the Edward E. Minerd Funeral Home, 196 W. Main St., until 11 a.m. Friday the hour of service. Dr. Earl F. Confer will officiate. Burial will be in the Park Place Cemetery. Eagles will meet in the lodge at 7:30 tonight to go to the funeral home for services at 7:45.
