He was born September 29, 1879, and had been a resident of Brownfield all his life. He was a retired Union Supply store manager having been with the Brownfield store for 45 years. He was a member of the Brownfield Methodist Church, a Trustee of the Church and a member of the H.C. Frick Veterans Association. Survivors are: two sons, Dr. William W. Patterson, Fairchance; James C. Patterson, Youngwood; a daughter, Mrs. John (Dolores) Brewer, Brownfield; three brothers, Lee Patterson, Brownfield; Ray C.Patterson, Uniontown; Ralph G. Patterson, Brownfield; two sisters, Mrs. John (Sadie) Rumbaugh, Brownfield; and Mrs. Harry C. (Nell) Curstead of Brownfield. Also eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by a half-brother, F.M. Patterson in 1951, and a sister, Katie Patterson in 1937. Friends are being received in the home of his son-in-law, John Brewer, until 12 noon Sunday, October 3 and in the Brownfield Methodist Church from 1 to 3:30, the hour of service, with Rev. Earl N. Coddington officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery, Brownfield, under the direction of the Wagner-Cooley Funeral Home, Fairchance.
