The Somerset Herald Wed Apr 05 1899 
Col. Thomas B. Searight, the oldest in active practice of the lawyers of the
Fayette county bar, and one of the best known citizens of Western Pennsylvania,
died Monday morning at his late residence in Uniontown, aged 72 years. He was
the author of "A History of the National Road," which deals largely with
incidents connected with that former great artery of commerce in Fayette and
Somerset Counties.
