I have changed the format to fit it onto 1 page. Prominent Area Doctor Summoned Dr. J. Holmes Sangston, 77, a McClellandtown physician for more than 50 years, died suddenly Wednesday, Nov. 7, 1956, in Uniontown Hospital. Born in Masontown, Dr. Sangston was a son of Dr. and Mrs. James P. Sangston. He served 35 years on the German Twp. School Board, was a member of the Fayette County, the State of Pennsylvania and American Medical Societies. He also was a Master Mason, holding membership in Franklin Lodge 221, Pittsburgh; Uniontown Lodge of Perfection, Pennsylvania Consistory of Pittsburgh and the Shrine. He also had been president of the Eberly Coal and Coke Co. several years. Dr. Sangston was a graduate of West Virginia University and established offices in McClellandtown immediately after his graduation from the University of Pittsburgh Medical School in 1903. He was a member of the Phi Rho Sigma Fraternity and the Presbyterian Church of McClellandtown. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Evelyn Leonard Sangston; one son, Thomas Leonard Sangston McClellandtown; two daughters, Mrs. Fredric (Virginia) Jussen, West Chester, and Mrs. John H. (Pauline) Messmore, St. Petersburg, Fla. One brother, Horace G. Sangston; a sister, Mrs. Mary Coffman, McClellandtown, and eight grandchildren also survive. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
