I have changed the format to fit it onto 1 page. R. W. Sesler Dead At 49 Robert W. Sesler of Houston, Tex., formerly of Uniontown, died Saturday in Methodist Hospital, Houston, Tex. He was 49. Mr. Sesler was assistant plant manager for Union Carbide in Texas City, Tex. at the time of his death. He joined Union Carbide after receiving his bachelor of science degree from West Virginia University. A veteran of World War II, he received his honorable discharge from the U. S. Army in November, 1956. His first Union Carbide assignment was as a staff engineer in plant shipping operations to improve and modernize distribution facilities and function in South Charleston, W. Va. A study he developed in South Charleston led to his patent of a manual drum filling device with fume exhaust and drip control. From January, 1959 to June, 1961, Mr. Sesler was department head of shipments and planning. From 1961 to 1965 he was department head of bulk materials handling and responsible for management of barge and river operations and the North Charleston bulk terminal. In September, 1970 Mr. Sesler transferred to the Texas City plant as distribution superintendent. In March, 1974 he was appointed assistant manager of the Texas City plant. He is survived by his wife, Bette Lee Hunt Sesler; the following children: Robert W. Jr. of Albuquerque, N.M.; Cindy of Washington, D.C.; David of Tucson, Ariz., and Susan, at home; his parents, Louis and Catherine Sesler of Uniontown; a sister, Mary Catherine, also of Uniontown. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Sesler Harris in January, 1973. Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p.m. today in Nassau Bay Baptist Church, Houston, Tex. Services will also be held in the Minerd Funeral Home, Uniontown, at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown.
