Funeral Wednesday For Russell Sessler Funeral services will be held Wednesday for James Russell Sessler Jr., who died yesterday in Uniontown Hospital at the age of 52. Mr. Sessler was minister of music at the Third United Presbyterian Church of Uniontown, and director of the Men's Glee Club and college organist at California State College. He resided on Braddock Ave., Uniontown. He was also the former minister of music at the New Salem United Presbyterian Church, Christ Methodist Church of Uniontown, Church of the Brethren of Uniontown, and the Fairchance United Presbyterian. Church. Mr. SessIer was past president of the Uniontown Music Club, a member of the Assn. of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties, the Fayette City Christian Endeavor Board and a member of the board of the Uniontown YMCA He was also a music teacher in the former Fairchance Georges School District and taught private piano and organ. He had earned an associate in the American Guild of Organists and was also a tour leader for the Men's Glee Club and other groups taking them to Hawaii, Russia and European countries. Mr. Sessler was a graduate of Uniontown High School with the class of 1943, a graduate of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Ill., attended Waynesburg College, received his bachelor of music degree at the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago. He earned his master of music degree at West Virginia University having studied with Dr. Clyde English and was presently coaching in organ with G. Logan McElvany of Pittsburgh. Born in Uniontown, Mr. Sessler was the son of the late James Russell Sr. and Mary Gray Sessler. Surviving are his wife, Clarissa Dally Sessler; a daughter, Amy Ruth; a brother, Donald G. of Uniontown, and two nephews. Friends will be received in the Ferguson Funeral Home, Uniontown, today from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until 11 a.m. Wednesday. There will be viewing from noon to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Third United Presbyterian Church where services will be held with Rev. Karl W. Bowman officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Masontown R.D.
