SMELL Mrs. Mary Malinda Smell, 67, died at her home in McClellandtown, Sunday afternoon, January 18, 1942 at 1:45 o'clock following a two months' illness of complications. Mrs. Smell was born October 24, 1874 in Georges township the daughter of the late James R. and Harriet Newcomer Shoaf. She was a member of the Smithfield Baptist Church for a number of years but at the time of her death was a member of the Grace Chapel Presbyterian Church of High House. Surviving are her husband Claude L. Smell, the following children, Edna Smell at home; Mrs. Opal Jubin of New Salem; Glenn Smell of Palmer; Mrs. Ethel Rechard and Mrs. Mabel Hostetler of Uniontown; three grandchildren, Harriet Louise and James Smell and Donald Jubin. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Thomas B. Shoaf of Masontown; James C. Shoaf of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Alda T. and John H. Shoaf of Smithfield; Frank N. Shoaf of Unioniown; Smith R. Shoaf of Williamstown, W. Va.; Mrs. Daisy Durr of Leetonia, O.; Nancy Shoaf of Smithfield; Mrs. Matilda Bixler of South Uniontown and Mrs. Ruth Baer of Akron, O. Funeral services will be held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. David Hunter will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Uniontown under the direction of T. L. Sangston of McClellandtown.
