SMITH, HAZEL (FRANKS) Age 85 years of 29 Highland Ave., Uniontown, Pa., died in Uniontown Hospital Aug. 29, 1985 at 9: 10 p.m. She was the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Mary E. Coffman Franks. Surviving are a sister, Ruth Ann Dillon of Stowe, Vt.; and a brother, Weldon Franks of Uniontown R.D. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; a brother, Clinton Franks; and two sisters, Mildred David and Nellie Mae Franks. She was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church, Uniontown, Fayette, Pennsylvania and National Retired Teachers' Association and Col. Andrew Lynn Chapter of D.A.R. She taught school for 41 years in the German Township School District, retiring in 1961. The family will receive friends in the James W. Goldsboro Funeral Home, Fairchance, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Dr. Earl P. Confer officiating. Interment will be in Jacob's Lutheran Cemetery.
