I have changed the format to fit it onto 1 page. SUTTON, JACOB W. (JAKE) Age 78, a resident of 20 Washington Way, Smithfield, died in his home on Saturday, November 2, 1974. He was born at Smithfield on February 29, 1896, a son of the late Ira and Elizabeth Dils Sutton. He was former postmaster for Smithfield for thirty-four years, and a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and Sunday School, I.O.O.F. Lodge 517, Smithfield, and a lifetime member of B.P.O. Elks, Uniontown. Surviving are his wife, Essey M. Strickler Sutton; one son, William Ira Sutton of Birmingham, Michigan; three grandchildren, Peter M. of Croston , Maryland; Mrs. William (Pamela) Greenwood of Seattle, Washington, and Scott G. of Birmingham, Michigan; two great - grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Earl (Catherine) Morgan of Smithfield; two brothers, Charles and Ewing, both of Smithfield. Funeral arrangements are incomplete, and will be announced ater by the Vance-Brownfield Funeral Home, Smithfield.
