VAN BREMEN, RUTH O'BRIEN Age 66, a resident of Main St., Smithfield, died suddenly in the Uniontown Hospital at 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 1974. She was born September 17,1907 at Fairchance, a daughter of the late Frank and Blanche O'Brien. She was a member of the Smithfield United Methodist Church, Lady Gallatin Rebekah Lodge 309, Golden Age Club of Smithfield, and Ladies Auxiliary of the Smithfield Volunteer Fire Dept. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband, James J. Van Bremen, in 1967. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Phyllis) Elliott of Warren, Ohio; one son, James C., Jr. of Ashland, Ohio; six grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; one sister, Freda O'Brien of Fairchance. The family will receive friends in the Vance-Brownfield Funeral Home, Smithfield, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of service, with Pastor Richard Downing officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield. Rebekah Lodge 309 will hold ritualistic services today at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
