Carl Ernest Vodney, 73, of Cedar Hill, Missouri died in a hospital in Chicago, 
Illinois after an extended illness on August 23, 2008.  Born in Lambert, March 
23, 1935, he attended German Township High School.  He is survived by his 
wife, Helen of Cedar Hill; three daughters, Carol Sue Somers, of Wichita, 
Kansas; Laurie Lynn and Christine Elaine Vodney of Illinois; two brothers, 
Ronald of Beech Grove, Indiana and Gerald of Plainfield, Indiana; two sisters, 
Nancy M. Merrill of Spencer, Indiana and Virginia A. Hutchings of 
Indianapolis, Indiana.  He was the son of the late Carl (Huck) Vodney and 
Margaret Franc Wright Hawkins.
