Latrobe Bulletin Thu, Apr 29, 1954 
Mrs. Margaret Freed Walls, 72, a former resident of the Latrobe district, died 5
a.m., Wednesday, at her home along the New Salem road in South Union Twp. She is
survived by her husband, Charles L. Walls, and the following sons and daughters:
Mrs. Wilbert (Pearl) Piper, Lemont Furnace; Mrs, Thomas J. (Viola) Ryan, South
Uniontown; Mrs. Goldie Chambers, SumonvIlle Road; Paul E. Freed, Davis Creek,
Calif.; Chester S. Freed, New Salem Road; Mrs. Russell (Evelyn) Smalley,
Searight; Mrs. Stephen (Thelma) Cassidy, Uniontown. Twenty-five grandchildren
and nine great-grandchildren and a brother, John Marks, Youngstown, also
survive. Friends will be received at the C. B. Dearth and Sons Funeral Home, New
Salem, where services will be held Friday. 2:30 p.m.. with Rev. Melvin H.
Shultz, in charge. Interment will be in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, near Uniontown.
