I have changed the format to fit it onto 1 page. William Walters William R. (Jeff) Walters, 49, Smithfield, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1976 at the University Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va. He was born at Leckrone, Jan. 18, 1927, a son of Theodore Walters of Leckrone, and the late Isabelle Tolbert Walters. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Smithfield, Smithfield Volunteer Fire Dept., Lodge 497 of the Sons of Italy, VFW Post 47 in Uniontown, Smithfield American Legion. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was presently employed at the Maple Creek Coal Mine, belonging to UMWA Local 1248. In addition to his father he is survived by his wife, Kathryn Sutton Walters; a daughter, Lou Ann, and a son, Ewing R. (Tubby) Walters, both at home; seven brothers, Harold Walters of Leckrone, Henry Walters of Rhode Island, Tom Walters of Leckrone, Leroy Walters of Rhode Island, Gene Walters of Conneticut, Donald Walters of Amend; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie McGowan of New York, Mrs. Betty Allen of Connecticut, Mrs. Robert (Doris) Lewis of Fairchance. Funeral arrangements were conducted by the John F. Brownfield Funeral Home, Smithfield. Rev. Nelson Krute, Rev. Paul Tarcy and Rev. Richard Downing officiated with interment in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Smithfield.
