It was later photocopied and given to me in 2002. It is a transcription of this photocopied original with no corrections to its spelling or punctuation. William Gadd. New Salem, June 23. - William Gadd, aged 80 years, died at 7 o'clock Saturday evening at his home in New Salem, within three miles of the farm at Dearth where he was born. Deceased was born in 1833 and was a son of the late Elijah and Mary (Haney) Gadd. Mr. Gadd was a stone mason by trade and lived in Menallen township for years. He was a Republican in politics and member of the Progressive Brethren church an Masontown. He married Hannah R. Frost and she died May 1, 1913. Three children survive, as follows: Lewis S. Gadd, East Riverside; Mrs. Leva H. Keener, Uniontown; and Miss Anna R. Gadd, at home. Deceased leaves one brother, Stephens I. Gadd, of Uniontown, who is enjoying good health at the age of 89 years. Funeral services Monday at 2 p. m. at the home in charge of Rev. Sloan. Interment in Oak Grove cemetery, Uniontown.
