Jesse [24], Caroline [23], and oldest daugher Mary Beal[3/12] are listed in the 1860 census of Saltlick Twp on page 294 Family 2196 House 2047. A Smith Peterman [16]is living with them. Three sons were born in Fayette County after Naomi in 1863, 1864, and 1866. Then in 1867 a daughter is born in Waterloo, Black Hawk, IA. So between Jan 1866 and Sep 1867 they moved to Iowa. Checking the 1872 Saltlick map on the Fayette County site I found in Back Creek Dist. D. Saylor, J. Foust, and A. Foust. These three families are all listed immediately after Jesse Beal in the 1860 census. [Families 2197 David Saylor,2198 John Foust, and 2199 Adam Foust] So it leads me to believe this house may be in that area of Saltlick Twp. Jesse's parents, Daniel [55] and Mary [49] Beal with children William [19], Sarah [17], and John [14] are listed 6 pages later on page 300 family 2245 two houses after the Henry Felger family 2243. I found W. Beal on the 1872 Saltlick map over in Centre Dist just above Davistown near the Champion Run. H. Felger is just southeast of his name on the map. W. Beal is Jesse's younger brother, William born in 1839 and resided in the same home until his death in 1923. Additional Comments: I'm hoping that someone will recognize the house in this picture and tell me where it's located and if possible, and it's still standing I'd love to get present day photo's of the home.
