Never found him again.] ------------ Washington Twp. Tax rolls 1819-1840, Fayette County, Pennsylvania [Source: FHC Film # 1449320] We know that our ancestor MARY HAGERTY bought land in this township in 1808, and we have tax information from abt. 1820 to her death in 1845, which helps to "fix her in time and place". We are still trying to "fill the gap" backwards in time from when she and her family emigrated to Pennsylvania, however this reel only had the one year to offer in Washington Township. The twenty six acres listed on the tax roll, does reflect the land indenture that we have for her. 1819: -HAGGERTY, MARY, widow [abt. 58 years of age], owns 26 acres ($520), 2 horses ($30), 1 cattle ($12), 2 hogs = Total Value ($562) -HAGGERTY, SAMUEL, laborer ($60)[abt. 23 years old], 1 horse ($20), 1 cattle ($12), = total valuation $92 -HAGGERTY, WILLIAM, saddler ($125)[abt. 32 years old], 1 lot ($225), 1 horse ($20), 1 cattle ($12), = total valuation $382 - JOBS, JOHN, laborer -(an 'X' drawn through the following name, with the notation that he had left his family:) JOBS, SAMUEL, wagonmaker; part landlord, charged to MARTIN MOFFAT. This is the man I was "hoping" would turn out married to one of Mary Hagerty's daughters. If he does, then we now have three children's names. Later on he is found on tax rolls of Franklin Twp., and hopefully he is back as a family man! -Later, under the "Names of children whose parents are not able to pay for their schooling:"(Notation: Children of Samuel Jobs who left his family last …(?) fall.)
