To my beloved wife one lot in the town of Bridgeport, a corner of High & Arch Street N. 82 Also to my wife my large folio Bible and a case of drawers, a Bed & Beding, Table, Clothes stand. Also one horse and one cow out of my stock. Also the use of my watch until my son Rees arrives to the age of 21 when it shall become his. Also to my wife an annual dower of sixty dollars to be paid by my son Jonah yearly. Also, if she should lose her riding creature by accident another shall be provided by my executor. My son Asa already having his part or portion of my estate already transferred, I bequeath to him an additional twenty dollars to be paid in one year. To my son Rees various tracts of land. Except three acres which is saved for the use of friends Meeting House. To my son Rees my large folio concordance and legacy of eight hundred forty dollars to be paid by my son Jonah. To my son Jonah, his heirs & assigns, the remainder of the land in town & vicinity of Bridgeport. To my daughters Mary & Edith each the sum of $540, one year after my decease. To my daughter Ruth the lot N. 16 in the town of Bridgeport. To my daughters Rachel and Hannah each one lot of their choice when they come to maturity. My three youngest daughters namely Ruth, Rachel & Hannah. To son Jonah, William Penns works in one folio volume. All my wearing apparel I leave to my three sons to be divided amongst them. Appoints Joseph Townsend of Westland, Washington County, and my two sons Asa & Jonah to be Executors. Signed this twentieth day of the ninth month 1798. "This is to certify that I am consenting to the last will of my late husband Reed Cadwalader being proven witness my hand thie 24th day of 11 month 1800. Elizabeth Cadwalader." Registered and Compared 24 November 1800, Alexander McClean, Register. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- JOSEPH CADWALADER, 1807: Redstone Twp, Fayette Co, PA: Know all men by these presents that I Joseph CADWALLADER of Redstone Township Fayette County and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania considering the uncertainty of this mortal life do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner & form following viz. First that all my personal property I give and bequeath to my son John & his heirs Secondly that my son John shall keep a strict account and charge me with whatsoever I stand in need of whilst in this Body and to be paid out of my Real Estate Thirdly I also direct that my Real Estate shall be sold at the discrecion of my Executors & what remains after all charges is paid up is to be equally divided between my three oldest children now living making my Daughter Marahs part Equel including that sum mentioned in that respect given by Frances Townsend the 9th of 9th month 1797. I morover direct that each one of my Legetees shall pay out of their part left them unto the heirs of my children deceased. three dollars that is Martha Rees & Catharine. Fourthly and Lastly I do hereby nominate & appoint Jonas Cattle & my son John Cadwallader to be my executors of this my last will & Testament hereby revoking and making all others void by me made in Testimony whereof I do set my hand & seal this twelfth day of the twelfth month one thousand eight hundred & six Joseph "His X mark" Cadwalader {Seal} Signed Sealed in the presents of us who do hereby subscribe ourselves as witnesses in the presents of the Testator William Linn* William White Sarah "her X mark" Eubanks. The 16th day of March Anno Domini 1807 personally came William White and on the 14th day of April Anno Domini 1807 personally came Sarah Eubanks two of the witnesses to the last foregoing will and Testament and being duly qualified did declare that they saw and heard the Testator sign and acknowledge the same as and for his last will and Testament that at the time of doing the same he was of sound mind memory and understanding & that no undue influence was used or later will made by him to their knowledge or belief -- Given under my hand and the seal of the Registers Office the same day Alexander McClean, Reg.
