Mary Hopwood (1680 - 1758) Last Will and Testament Written: May 23, 1757 Probated: March 13, 1758 In the name of God, Amen. I, Mary Hopwood of the Parish of Cople and County of Westmoreland being sick and weak of body but of good and perfect memory thanks be to God calling to mind the uncertainly of this transitory life do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament. As to my worldly Estate it hath pleased God to endow me with after my just debts paid I give and dispose of in the following manner /Imp/ I give and bequeath unto my son Henry Boyer one bed and furniture, my old brass kettle and all my hatters tools to him and his heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath unto my son John Boyer my best bed and furniture and all the remainder of my estate not already bequeathed of what nature or kind over to him and his heirs forever and I do hereby revoke, disannul and make void all other wills, testaments and (legates) by me heretofore made satisfying and confirming this to be my last will and testament. And I do hereby constitute and appoint my son John Boyer to be Exor of this my last will and testament. In Witness whereof I have herein to set my hand and Seal this 23d day of May in the year of our Lord 1757. Signed, sealed and delivered to be the last will and testament of the above named Mary Hopwood in presence of Sam Rust, Jerimiah Jeffreys, John Courtney. At a court held for Northumberland County the 13th day of March 1758 this last will and testament of Mary Hopwood dec'd was this day presented in court by John Boyer the Exor therein named who made oath thereto according to law and the same being proved by the oaths of Jeremiah Jeffreys and John Courtney two ot the witnesses thereto and admitted to record and on the motion of the said Executor a certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
