We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ______________________________________________________________ Charles Murray Last Will and Testament Written in April or May 1813 Probated December 6, 1813 In the name of God Amen, I, Charles Murray, of Fayette County in the state of Pennsylvania, being weak of body but of sound mind, memory and understanding and considering the uncertainty of this transitory life, do make and publish this last will and testament in manner and form following to wit principally and first of all, I command my immortal soul unto God and my body to the Earth to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner and as to such worldly estate when with it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give and dispose of in the following manner to wit: First, it is my will and I do order that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid as soon as conveniently can be after my decease. Then I give and bequeath unto my son Andrew Murray all my family untencils and his bed and bedding. I then give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Nelly Foster one bed and bedding (the feathers she has saved to be included in said bed); I also give unto the said Nelly her grandmother’s saddle and one spinning wheel and cloth for a riding coat and of the piece of black cloth that was in my house;. It is my will and desire and I do order that the remainder of my estate, except what I shall hereafter bequeath, be equally divided into three equal parts and divided as follows: two parts to my son Andrew, aforesaid with my dresser furniture in addition to the first bequeath; and the remaining one part. It is my will and desire - the said one part be equally divided amongst my children to wit: Peggy Dougan, Elspy Foster, Robert Murray and Nelly Foster, the wife of John Foster, and I give and bequeath further unto my granddaughter Nelly Foster aforesaid …is to be in full compensation of all and any service rendered to me in my life. And lastly, I nominate and approve my sons Robert Murray and Andrew Murray to be the executors of this my last will, hereby revoking all other wills, legacies by me heretofore made declaring this and no other to be my last will and testament.
