I, Christian Newcomer of Tyrone Township County of Fayette and State of Pennsylvania do make and declare this my last will and Testament, revoking and making null and void all former wills by me made at any time heretofore. First I direct that my body be decently intered and as to such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to intrust me with I dispose of the same as follows: Viz. I direct that all my debts and personal expenses be paid as soon after my decease as possible out of the first monies that shall come in the hands of my Executors. First I will and bequeath unto my dear wife, Susanah Newcomer that tract or piece of land situate and lying in South Huntington Township, Westmoreland County and State of Pennsylvania which I purchased from my son Henry S. Newcomer and adjoining lands of Hugh Chain, Robert Burr and John Gallatin for her own use to have and to hold or to sell and dispose of as she may see proper. And I do hereby vest in my Executors full power and authority to dispose of the tract of Land upon which I now live situate in Tyrone Township, County of Fayette and State of Pennsylvania in as full and large a manner in every respect as I could myself do if living. And out of the proceeds of sale of said Estate it is my will that my Executors pay the amount I am indebted to Henry S. Newcomer being the sum of seven hundred and seventy-five dollars. And further I will and bequeath to my daughter Maria Newcomer the sum of one thousand (eight hundred is crossed out) dollars out of the proceeds of the sale of real Estate to be put out at interest by my executors as her guardians and the interest arising therefrom to be appropriate to her support during her natural life, and after her death the said one thousand (eight hundred again crossed out) dollars to be equally divided between my sons and daughters Jonathan Newcomer, Susan Shull, Henry Newcomer, Catherine Gallatin, Eliza Hutchison, Sarah Newcomer, Joseph Newcomer, Lydia Newcomer, David Newcomer, Lucinda Newcomer and William Newcomer. And further it is my will that after the above sums are appropriated out of the sale of my real estate as before mentioned, the ballance remaining shall be divided equally amongst my sons and daughters as before mentioned. And further as to all my personal estate and effects whatsoever it is my will that they be sold with the exception of such articles or property which my wife may need and which she shall select, and the funeral expenses Doctor bills and any small or ordinary debts which I may owe shall be paid out of proceeds of said sale. And the ballance of any remaining shall be paid over to my wife, Susanah Newcomer to her use as an outfit for my daughters if any or all of them should get married. And I do hereby constitute and appoint Susannah Newcomer my wife and David Gally to be Executors of this my last will and Testament, in witness whereof I the said Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this twenty ninth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty five. /s/ Christian Newcomer (Seal) Signed sealed and delivered in presence of William Cottom James Darsie Fayette County SS this 15th day of May A.D. 1855 before me the undersigned Register for the probate wills & granting Letters Testamentary in and for said County came William Cottom & James Darsie who being duly affirmed did depose and say that they saw & heard the testater sign seal publish & declare the same to be his last will & Testament when of Sound Mind and Memory that they signed the same at the bequest of the Testator & in his presence and in the presence of each other and that no undue influence was used or later will made by said Testator to them known.
